About Val
I’m a professional graphic and presentation designer with 10+ years of experience turning ideas, information, and sometimes very complicated spreadsheets into presentations people actually want to look at.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to design presentations for CEOs, executive teams, sales organizations, and major company events. I’ve also worked closely with leaders who know their subject inside and out but don’t always know how to turn that expertise into a clear, engaging presentation. That’s where I come in.
I genuinely enjoy the problem-solving side of design. I like figuring out how to take something complicated and make it simple, clear, and visually interesting. I also believe design should be approachable, which is why I try to make my lessons practical, relaxed, and free of unnecessary jargon.
Whether you’re trying to build a presentation for school, impress your boss, prepare for an important meeting, or simply stop making slides that look like they came straight from a PowerPoint template, I’d love to help.
My goal is simple: help you become more confident creating presentations and give you the tools to make better design decisions on your own.

I believe good presentation design is about a lot more than making slides look pretty. It’s about taking a lot of information, finding the story inside it, and making it easy for someone else to understand.
My lessons are practical, collaborative, and tailored to what you actually want to learn. We’ll cover everything from PowerPoint fundamentals and slide layouts to typography, visual hierarchy, storytelling, charts, imagery, animation, and building presentations that feel polished and intentional.
A typical lesson might start with a presentation you’re currently working on, a design problem you’re trying to solve, or a skill you want to improve. We’ll look at what’s working, what isn’t, and why. Then we’ll work through it together. I like learning by doing, so whenever possible, you’ll be creating and experimenting rather than just watching me click through menus.
What sets me apart is that I’m teaching from real-world experience, not just a textbook. I’ve been a graphic designer for 10+ years and have spent 6+ years specializing in presentations for executives, leadership teams, sales organizations, and major company events. I’ve worked directly with CEOs and executive teams, so I’ve learned how to balance good design with tight deadlines, complicated information, and the occasional "I need this presentation tomorrow" situation.
My lessons are a good fit for students, professionals, marketers, business owners, or anyone who wants to get better at presentations. Whether you're brand new to PowerPoint or already know your way around it but want your presentations to look and communicate more professionally, we can build the lessons around your experience and goals.
