About Denira

Hi! My name is Denira Coleman, I am a South African opera singer who has recently completed a Masters in Performance at the Royal College of Music (currently ranked the best music conservatoire in the world).

My extensive performing experience includes singing with the largest opera company in South Africa as well as performing in Italy, Germany and of course, here in the UK.

As a teacher, I have run my own professional singing studio since 2015, and have taught many students (ranging from young children to adult learners). My lessons focus on the music you or your child enjoys and are interested in learning, but we can also follow the ABRSM music syllabus if you would like to complete the Grades. Many of my students have gone on to great success at their level of music, performing (and winning) many competitions, and passing their exams with high marks.

If you chose me, I would be thrilled to teach you - or your child - music and am happy to teach any level or genre of singing. Additionally, I teach beginners piano (and we can combine both singing and piano into one session if you would like). I can travel to you or host your lessons at my home.

Your goals will be my main priority, and we will get you performing at a high level through fun and encouraging instruction. My main focus in your lessons will be to create a positive, creative learning environment and to support your journey in music. I work in a very holistic way, focusing not only on vocal/piano technique but also on music theory, acting, diction and self-expression. If you choose me to be your tutor I guarantee your lessons will be as fun as they are productive, and you will be a better musician after every lesson.

I hope to share the passion that I have for music with you and I look forward to hearing from you.
