About Seth
I am a piano tutor with 9 years of experience and a B.Mus in Piano Performance along with an M.Mus in Music Pedagogy. I specialize in developing technical skill, expressive interpretation, and performance confidence for learners at all levels. I teach beginners to build foundational technique, intermediate students to refine musicality and sight-reading, and advanced learners to master performance and expressive skills. Lessons integrate technical exercises, repertoire practice, improvisation, and performance coaching. Instruction is personalized to learner goals. Beginners focus on basic technique, posture, and melodies. Intermediate learners enhance sight-reading, phrasing, and interpretive skills. Advanced learners focus on technical mastery, expressive performance, and complex repertoire. Feedback is constructive, continuous, and encouraging. Lessons balance technical skill, artistic exploration, and engagement. Outside teaching, I perform, compose, and explore diverse piano styles. I mentor students through recitals, community events, and creative projects. Teaching piano allows me to witness learners develop skill, expression, and confidence. Advanced learners focus on technical mastery, musical expression, complex repertoire, improvisation, and performance preparation. Each lesson combines structured exercises, creative exploration, and performance opportunities, fostering technical competence and expressive freedom. I encourage learners to connect emotion with technique, develop a personal musical voice, and enjoy the process of learning piano. Lessons balance discipline, creativity, and engagement for consistent improvement.
Lesson plans are adapted to each student’s level. Beginners learn hand positioning, note recognition, and basic rhythm. Intermediate learners develop technique, sight-reading, phrasing, and expressive skills. Advanced learners refine repertoire, interpretation, improvisation, and performance skills.
