About Malia
I earned a PhD in Piano Interpretation and Music Theory after years of advanced study in composition, instrumental performance, and artistic communication during my academic training. During the past 11 years, I have guided students from many different backgrounds and experience levels, helping them improve through personalised instruction and supportive mentorship. Teaching piano allows me to combine creativity, communication, and artistic expression in a deeply meaningful way. I enjoy helping learners become more confident musicians through engaging and practical lessons.
My teaching style focuses on flexibility, patience, and balanced musical growth. Some students improve best through structured technical repetition, while others respond more naturally to improvisation and creative exploration. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s comfort level, confidence, and artistic goals. Along with technical development, I help students strengthen listening ability, rhythm awareness, expressive playing, and performance readiness. Building a welcoming and encouraging learning atmosphere remains one of my highest priorities as a teacher.
Outside teaching, I continue practising piano, exploring different musical genres, and studying educational approaches that help keep lessons motivating and inspiring. Music remains a strong source of creativity and emotional expression in my life. One of the most fulfilling parts of teaching is seeing students become more expressive and self-assured throughout their musical journey.

My piano lessons are created to help students strengthen technical foundations while developing creativity and musical confidence through structured and engaging learning sessions. I teach note reading, rhythm control, hand coordination, finger independence, expressive phrasing, and dynamic balance using practical exercises that feel approachable for learners at every level. Lessons also include improvisation tasks, ear training, timing exercises, duet activities, and sight-reading practice that help students improve naturally through regular repetition. I create a calm and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable exploring music while building healthy technical habits. Every lesson supports both musical development and artistic individuality together.
Beginners focus on keyboard familiarity, posture, scales, and simple melodies through organised routines and patient instruction that build healthy playing habits gradually. Intermediate learners improve smoother transitions, coordination between both hands, expressive timing, and rhythmic consistency through guided studies and focused exercises. Advanced students strengthen emotional interpretation, advanced repertoire, stage confidence, and performance preparation through detailed coaching sessions. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s pace, confidence, and musical goals so progress remains balanced and motivating throughout the learning journey.
Learning piano should feel enjoyable, rewarding, and personally meaningful. I encourage students to appreciate steady progress while building confidence through supportive feedback and regular practice. Many learners become more expressive and independent as their musical understanding continues growing naturally over time. My goal is to help students strengthen both technical skill and artistic confidence while building a lasting connection with music.
