About Jayne
I am a piano tutor with over 9 years of experience working with college students. My teaching approach is student-focused and adaptable, ensuring lessons suit each learner’s pace and interests. I emphasise strong foundations in piano technique, sight-reading, rhythm, and music theory.
To make learning more engaging, I include creative activities such as improvisation, composition tasks, and modern music styles. I also help students build confidence for performances and expressive playing. My goal is to guide students towards steady progress while making piano learning enjoyable and meaningful.

My approach to teaching piano is student-centred, creative, and structured. I aim to help students enjoy learning while developing strong technical and musical skills.
Creativity is incorporated through improvisation, creative exercises, and exploring different music styles. Students are encouraged to express themselves and stay motivated during every lesson.
As a mentor and critical thinker, I guide students to understand rhythm, finger technique, scales, chords, and musical expression in simple steps. Students learn to analyse their playing and improve steadily.
Accountability is emphasised through goal setting, structured practice routines, and regular progress tracking. This helps students stay disciplined, confident, and focused on their musical growth.
Along with piano, I teach music theory, sight reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, keyboard basics, and simple composition to support comprehensive musical development.
