About Josie
My connection with the piano began through a fascination with harmony, melody, and musical storytelling. This passion inspired me to complete a Bachelor's Degree in Music before earning a PhD in Piano Education and Performance. Over the last 11 years, I have worked with students of varying ages and skill levels.
I believe effective teaching combines structure, encouragement, and adaptability. My teaching approach focuses on helping students understand music while developing practical performance skills. I enjoy creating lessons that challenge learners while supporting their confidence.
Outside teaching, I continue studying piano literature, exploring educational research, and attending concerts. These experiences help me bring fresh inspiration into every lesson. Helping students discover their musical potential remains one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.

My piano lessons are designed to help students build strong musical foundations while developing confidence and independence. We focus on note reading, rhythm awareness, finger strength, hand coordination, sight reading, and listening skills through structured exercises and engaging musical pieces. Every lesson encourages consistent growth and deeper musical understanding.
As learners become more advanced, we explore chord progressions, accompaniment techniques, dynamic control, phrasing, pedal usage, interpretation, and performance preparation. Lessons are customized to match each student's goals and interests, creating a productive and enjoyable learning experience. Regular guidance helps students improve steadily while maintaining motivation.
I believe piano study should encourage both creativity and discipline. My goal is to help students become capable musicians who enjoy expressing themselves through music. Every lesson supports technical growth, artistic awareness, and long-term success.
