About Lukas
Hello! My name is Lukas, I'm 20 years old and I've been studying information systems at the Technical University of Munich since October 2018. I grew up near Würzburg with a German father and a Dutch mother. Also, I lived in Shanghai, China from 2012 to 2018. I've been playing the piano for almost 15 years now, and I've also given a few lessons. I have been playing in a funk rock band for about 5 years and was also active in the big band when I was at school. From my own experience I can say that blues music - especially improvising across different scales - has helped me gain a lot of enthusiams for music!

I can give lessons in German or English. I am also fluent in Dutch, but I am not familiar with the technical terms in Dutch. The students can choose for themselves whether the focus should be on precisely regulated classical music or on freer genres such as pop, blues or rock. In my opinion, a good mix of theory, practice and most of all, playing yourself is the key to effective, meaningful teaching, the most important thing being that it's fun! :)
