About Chelsea
My passion for piano began through fascination with melody, harmony, and emotional storytelling through music. This interest inspired me to complete a PhD in Piano Pedagogy, where I explored advanced teaching methods, performance techniques, and musical interpretation in greater depth. Over the past 11 years, I have guided students from different musical backgrounds through lessons that feel warm, inspiring, and creatively supportive.
I believe every student deserves lessons that match their learning pace, musical interests, and creative personality. My teaching philosophy focuses on patience, healthy technique, and artistic expression because every learner experiences music differently. Some students improve through repetition and structured exercises, while others gain confidence through improvisation and creative exploration. I carefully adapt lessons to create an environment where learners feel motivated and encouraged consistently.
Outside teaching, I continue exploring piano repertoire, composition, and performance traditions to keep my lessons engaging and meaningful. Staying connected to music allows me to bring artistic inspiration and practical performance ideas into lessons. I want students to improve not only technically but also emotionally through stronger confidence and creativity. Helping learners express themselves through piano remains one of the most fulfilling parts of my teaching experience.

My piano lessons are designed to help students build musical understanding through structured practice and creative exploration. I teach rhythm training, finger independence, sight reading, chord progressions, dynamics, improvisation, and musical interpretation using methods that make learning feel engaging and manageable. Lessons focus on helping students understand music deeply instead of depending only on memorization. I create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable improving steadily through guided practice and encouragement.
Each lesson is personalized according to the learner’s experience level, musical interests, and long-term goals. Beginners receive patient support with posture, note reading, rhythm exercises, and hand coordination, while advanced learners strengthen technical precision, expressive playing, and performance confidence. I include scales, duet exercises, listening activities, and interpretation discussions that help students improve naturally over time. Students preparing for examinations or performances receive additional support with stage preparation and confidence-building methods.
I believe piano becomes more meaningful when students feel emotionally connected to the music they play. My lessons aim to replace frustration with enjoyment through patient guidance and steady encouragement. Many learners gradually become more expressive, disciplined, and creatively confident as their understanding improves steadily. My goal is to help students build strong musical foundations while developing creativity and confidence that support lifelong musical growth.
