About Peyton
I have been teaching piano for nine years, motivated by a lifelong passion for music. I work with students of all ages and skill levels, tailoring lessons to their goals and strengths. Teaching allows me to combine technical guidance with creative exploration, supporting both skill and personal growth. I emphasise patience, clarity, and adaptability, blending technical exercises with repertoire, improvisation, and interpretation. Lessons focus on technique, sight-reading, phrasing, and musical expression while encouraging confidence and individuality. I create an environment that fosters motivation, curiosity, and meaningful progress. Outside teaching, I perform, compose, and explore various musical styles to continuously expand my perspective. Watching students develop from beginners to confident performers capable of interpretation and improvisation is deeply rewarding. Helping learners achieve technical mastery, artistry, and lifelong musical connection is the core of my teaching philosophy.

My piano lessons focus on building both technical proficiency and artistic expression, guiding students to connect with music meaningfully. Lessons incorporate exercises in scales, finger technique, sight-reading, and repertoire while integrating improvisation and interpretation. I create a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to explore their own musical voice while mastering fundamentals, fostering both progress and enjoyment. Beginners learn hand positioning, basic scales, reading music, and simple pieces. Intermediate learners refine phrasing, dynamics, pedalling, and expand their repertoire with increasing complexity. Advanced students tackle challenging compositions, improvisation, and performance preparation. Assignments include technical exercises, listening tasks, repertoire practice, and creative projects to reinforce growth. Lessons are customised to each student’s abilities, goals, and learning style to maximise engagement and progress. Students gain technical mastery, artistic expression, and performance confidence. Many perform in recitals, collaborate in ensembles, or compose original music. Piano study strengthens discipline, focus, creativity, and emotional awareness, with benefits that extend beyond music. My aim is to help students cultivate skill, artistry, and a lifelong appreciation for piano, empowering them to perform, interpret, and share music confidently and expressively.
