About Cheryl
I am a piano instructor with 5 years of teaching experience. I teach students of all ages and levels. I have taught about 300 students. Many have passed exams with honors and performed in concerts. Some now play in bands or compose. My teaching is based on care, motivation, adapting to learning styles, and problem-solving. I tailor lessons to each student's pace. I focus on technique, reading, theory, and ear training. I also teach creativity and performance skills. I am patient and supportive. I celebrate each milestone. I help students overcome challenges. I am proud of my students' progress. My goal is to inspire a lasting love of music.

My teaching plan for piano is based on care, excitement, adapting to learners, and solving problems. I think piano is a wonderful instrument for lifelong joy. My goal is to build skills, knowledge, and enjoyment. Care is central. I am patient and create a safe space for mistakes and questions. I encourage students at every step. Excitement keeps them interested. I choose music they enjoy and set reachable goals. I show their progress to keep them motivated. I link practice to their interests, like movie music or pop songs. Adapting to learners helps each student. Visual learners like charts. Auditory learners like listening. Kinesthetic learners like feeling the music. I adapt to each style. Problem-solving helps students overcome challenges. I guide them to find answers themselves. I teach them to break down problems and practice well. This builds confidence. My lessons cover technique, reading, theory, ear training, and repertoire. I teach posture, hand position, and finger control. I use scales and exercises. Theory includes notes, chords, and keys. Ear training includes interval and chord work. Repertoire covers classical, jazz, pop, and blues. I teach expression and dynamics. I also encourage creativity. Each lesson has warm-ups, theory, repertoire, and review. I use recordings for self-assessment. My aim is to create skilled, creative, and confident pianists.
