About Isla
My passion for piano developed from a fascination with melody, harmony, and expressive performance during childhood music training. I completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Music before earning a PhD in Piano Interpretation Studies. Over the last 11 years, I have helped students improve musical confidence through supportive teaching and structured practice methods.
I enjoy adapting lessons for different confidence levels, personalities, and musical goals. Some students improve through technical repetition and exercises, while others respond better to creativity and expressive interpretation. My teaching style focuses on patience, positivity, and balanced musical learning.
Outside teaching, I enjoy arranging piano compositions, studying classical repertoire, and exploring contemporary keyboard styles. Staying connected to music helps me bring fresh ideas into lessons. Teaching piano is rewarding because I enjoy helping students express themselves creatively and confidently through music.

My piano lessons are designed to help students build technical confidence while developing creativity and musical understanding. I teach rhythm training, note reading, scales, hand coordination, chord progressions, dynamics, and expressive interpretation through guided exercises that make learning approachable and rewarding. Lessons are supportive, calm, and focused on steady improvement.
Beginners strengthen their foundations through simple melodies, coordination drills, and rhythm exercises that gradually improve keyboard control. Intermediate learners improve timing accuracy, expressive phrasing, and accompaniment skills through structured repertoire and technical practice. Advanced students focus on artistic interpretation, advanced keyboard techniques, and polished performance preparation through detailed musical work.
I encourage students to connect emotionally with music instead of focusing only on technical perfection. Lessons support creativity, patience, and confidence while helping learners improve comfortably. My goal is to help students become expressive, relaxed, and confident piano players.
