About Savannah
My fascination with piano began through appreciation for melody, harmony, and emotional storytelling through music. This interest inspired me to complete a PhD in Piano Education and Performance, where I explored interpretation methods, teaching strategies, and technical refinement in greater depth. During the past 10 years, I have guided students from different musical backgrounds through lessons that feel supportive, engaging, and creatively inspiring.
I enjoy helping students become more comfortable expressing themselves musically and overcoming the uncertainty that often comes with learning piano. My teaching philosophy focuses on patience, healthy technique, and artistic confidence because every learner develops differently. Some students improve through structured technical exercises, while others gain confidence through improvisation and musical exploration. I carefully adapt lessons to ensure learners feel motivated and encouraged throughout their progress.
Outside teaching, I continue exploring piano repertoire, composition methods, and live performance traditions to keep my lessons meaningful and inspiring. Staying connected to music helps me bring artistic creativity and practical performance knowledge into lessons. I want students to improve not only technically but also emotionally through stronger confidence and self-expression. Helping learners discover individuality and creativity through piano remains one of the most fulfilling parts of my teaching experience.

My piano lessons are designed to help students build strong technical foundations while developing creativity and expressive musical understanding. I teach rhythm coordination, finger independence, chord progressions, sight reading, improvisation, pedal technique, and musical interpretation using methods that make learning feel balanced and rewarding. Lessons focus on helping students understand how music connects naturally instead of depending only on memorization and repetition. I create a calm learning environment where learners feel comfortable improving steadily through supportive guidance.
Each lesson is personalized according to the learner’s confidence level, musical interests, and personal goals. Beginners receive patient support with note reading, rhythm exercises, hand coordination, and posture, while advanced learners strengthen expressive interpretation, technical consistency, and performance preparation. I include listening activities, duet practice, scale work, and creative exercises that help students improve naturally over time. Students preparing for examinations or recitals receive additional support with organized practice methods and confidence-building techniques.
I believe piano becomes more meaningful when students feel emotionally connected to the music they perform. My lessons aim to replace frustration with enjoyment through supportive explanation and patient encouragement. Many learners gradually become more expressive, disciplined, and creatively confident as their understanding improves steadily. My goal is to help students build strong musical foundations while developing confidence and creativity that support lifelong artistic growth.
