About Amanda
Beginners often think that reading music is the only path forward. I work with people who want to skip the rigid drills to find their own sound. My BFA in Music Industry gives me a sharp edge on pop and contemporary styles.
I focus on memorization techniques, hand independence, and scales and arpeggios to build your facility. Jazz improvisation and chord voicing become easy once you master posture and hand position. Classical repertoire provides the foundation for your creative work. I have coached many students over 11 years to help them find their musical voice without the boredom.

Sitting down at the keys feels more like a jam session than a lecture. Most people assume that piano is just about pressing the right buttons in order.
I use my 11 years of gigging to show you how chords connect for real songs. We spend our time on pop and contemporary structures while refining your posture and hand position.
I create custom sheet music arrangements for songs you actually want to play. You will find that jazz improvisation and classical repertoire are just tools to make you a better writer. I promise to keep the tone light while we work on your technique.
