About Gregory
Five years of teaching piano has produced a long string of exam successes. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music, and my studies gave equal weight to performance and academic music. That balance suits exam teaching perfectly, because the system tests both.
I am organized and methodical. Each student has a preparation timeline, and parents receive updates on where things stand. A mother recently told me my termly reports were clearer than her son's school reports.
My students regularly earn merits and distinctions in both practical and theory grades. Behind those results is steady routine work, done kindly and consistently. I celebrate every pass as if it were my own.

Exams reward preparation that starts early and covers everything. My students begin exam programmes at least two terms ahead. Scales, pieces, sight reading and aural tests all receive weekly attention.
Theory is woven into practical lessons rather than bolted on. When a piece modulates, we name the new key and understand why. Students who grasp theory play with more confidence and memorise more reliably.
Written exam candidates follow a clear course with regular past papers. We mark them together and learn from every error. One student improved from a bare pass to a distinction between grades four and five.
I keep exam pressure healthy. Mock tests reduce fear, and I remind students that an exam measures a day, not their worth. Prepared students walk in calmly, and calm students play well.
