Having completed AMEB Grade 8 (distinction) and mastered demanding AMusA repertoire for the HSC (Band 6 in Music 1), I understand the exact roadmap required to progress from the very first notes to advanced, expressive performance.

Having undergone structured classical training for over a decade, I understand the challenges students face when developing technique, reading notation, and preparing performance pieces.
My lessons balance three core pillars:
Technical Foundation & Posture: Developing relaxed hand positioning, finger dexterity, and scale/arpeggio fluency to prevent strain and build speed.
Music Theory & Sight-Reading: Teaching students to read sheet music with confidence, understand rhythm, and grasp the musical logic behind the pieces they play.
Musicality & Expression: Moving beyond just hitting the right notes to focus on phrasing, dynamics, and tone production so every piece sounds complete and expressive.
Lesson Structure & Length
Lessons are structured around warm-ups/technique, current repertoire practice, sight-reading, and a recap of practice goals for the week.
30 Minutes: Recommended for young children (ages 5–8) or absolute beginners to maintain focus and consistent progress.
45 Minutes: Ideal for intermediate learners working through foundational AMEB grades (Preliminary to Grade 4).
60 Minutes: Best for advanced students, comprehensive AMEB exam preparation, HSC performance pieces, or adults wanting in-depth study.
