About Elijah

I have been studying piano for approximately 9 years. In that time I have acquired extremely useful pieces of knowledge and musical technique. I have had experience in performance for about 7 years, playing in small recitals to upscale venues as well as being accepted in the New England Conservatory of Music as the age of 12.

In my time of studying piano I experienced frustrating educational techniques from various teachers that discouraged my individuality and motivational love for music. Music is more than informational data being played on an instrument. Music is an emotional audible expression that should evoke a bold and passionate feeling within those who perform or listen. From a young age I knew this to be true, regardless of what any teacher thought. Now I desire to gift that musical perspective and experience to another. The love of music is to be cherished and nurtured. Proper technique is vital, but without the organic desire to learn & enjoy music, things will not progress. My goal is to progress my students with technique, proper practice, and most especially the love for the music we learn.

About the lesson

I am a private online and in-person piano educator. My focus is to Instill a deep love for music through foundational piano education. I teach young players on the fundamentals of being a pianist as well as foundational music theory concepts. I will prioritize what each individual student aspires to learn based off music they love and integrate that with technical practice and music theory education.
