About Oli
I have played piano for about 15 years, since I was 8 years old, and have taken ABRSM grades from Grade 3 up to completing Grade 8 five years ago as well as Grade 5 Theory. I had lessons for 10 years and after taking a short break I am looking at throwing myself fully back into piano, including teaching and introducing others to playing this instrument. I'm very friendly and approachable and also very easy to get on with. I have informally taught a few friends a bit of piano in the past and now I am keen to start tutoring more officially.
I am happy to teach students in a place that works best for them or online, although I believe that face to face tutoring is the best way to get the most out of the lessons.

I taylor the lessons according to the experience of each student and what their aims are. Most lessons will consist of going over a piece of the student's choosing and, if relevant, some bits of theory in order to get a deeper understanding of the music. I will ensure that the student is using correct technique and, in the later stages, getting an idea of the musicality of the pieces whilst also (most importantly) enjoying what they are playing!
I'm happy teaching anyone from very beginners, only just starting out on their journey on the piano, to intermediate players right up to ABRSM Grade 5 standard (although this is just a guide and whether or not the student takes these grades is entirely up to them).
