About Jonathan Jarreau

I am a musician with experience in music. I have become a music teacher and gained a lot of knowledge and experience in the teaching world. I love teaching and also learning new things. I am very passionate about music. I do gigs as well, which is live performance, and I really enjoy it.

About the lesson

My teaching method is based on the approach and manner I teach, which must be fun and appropriate to the level of the student. I basically set my lessons according to the student's level and knowledge of music. For example, if a learner knows nothing, I'm going to start with the basic notes of the piano and then take it to a triad chord (meaning three notes played at the same time). If I have to teach an intermediate learner, I will train them by adding melodies to his/her playing and also use variations of harmonies. Learn about melodic dictation and how to use theory in playing with basic scales like a major and melodic minor. For an advanced student, my approach will be a little different because they will know chords and stuff, so I will teach them how to reharmonize songs, work with an ensemble (band), use complex chords like m9, maj9, -7b5, etc., and also use these sets of chords in a song. Learn more advanced scales such as harmonic minors, diminished scales, pentatonic, etc. My lessons and approach will be according to the learner's knowledge, and it will definitely be fun and open for teaching and learning.
