About TROY
Greetings to all, my name is Troy D. and I have been studying music ever since the age of 8 years old. I am from Farmington Hills, MI, and went through the Farmington public school system. My main instrument is the piano which I have been playing for the past 9.5 years or so. I have also played other instruments ranging from strings, woodwinds, and brass. In addition, I have been singing since 2016 when I joined the choir in my 8th-grade year. When I started high school, I began playing piano for choir concerts and other musical venues throughout the district. I also had many teaching opportunities that were brought to me as well. I have subbed for choir, orchestra, and band classes many times for my high school. In addition to subbing, I also became one of the Vocal Directors for our school musical productions. I also have experience as a piano and voice coach for many of the students I came to know. Right now, I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Vocal Music Education with an emphasis in Piano from Eastern Michigan University. I love teaching, and I have always dreamed of being in a classroom making music with everyone. Unfortunately, we can't do that in today's world, but whoever said the music-making has to stop? I am devoted to making you not only grow as a musician but as a confident, risk-taker, and intentional person. I strongly believe that this could be done, by studying music

What I like to do first is get to know them. Not just who they are, but more of their lifestyle, work ethic, dreams, and goals. I make sure that they always feel comfortable and not overwhelmed at the beginning. If they are having trouble with any content, I try different approaches and won't move on until complete mastery and understanding. I believe that everyone has the ability to be experts at whatever they wish to do. However, you have to put in the work!
