About Eilidh
I am in my final year of a Master's degree in Education, I am passionate about the holistic benefits of movement and a healthy lifestyle. I have taught sports since I was 16 and have completed long term placements in both Secondary Schools and Primary. I also have experience tutoring English with a Higher qualification. I've been teaching English and Maths to refugees in Greece over the summer so have experience teaching English as a second language.

Dependant of both student and topic, I think it's important to vary styles of teaching depending on a number of factors, no two students learn the same and it's important to be flexible. That said I think students learn best through experiences, as a teacher it is my responsibility to ensure these experiences provide a long lasting impact and can be applied in real life situations. Learning is about more than the memorisation of materials, and so it is important to provide students with the skills to apply information in context. I like to begin with a review, no matter how long I have known a student it's important to evaluate what level they are at and refresh their memory of what they know, getting the brain 'warmed up' for the lesson before diving straight in. Then, I like to introduce the aim of the day, so that there is a clear line of development and this aim can be revisited and the end and even in the next lesson to assess success. It is then that we get into the main body of the lesson which asstatef can take a number of forms. At the end, it is time for a review and challenge which may be playing a game of applying the lessons content in a context using a role play situation.
