About Ashley
I am a PhD student studying ethnomusicology at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to starting my PhD, I studied music performance and anthropology. My primary instrument area is percussion, but have also studied piano, guitar, and a variety of woodwind instruments. In addition to being a musician, my studies have also required me to extensively study foreign languages, so I also know Turkish, Kurdish, Persian, and Swedish.

I implement a flipped classroom approach in my teaching. This means that students take charge of their education with me to help facilitate learning and guide them in the directions they want to go. My Musicology/Music History/Music Theory lessons can be tailored for any age group.
