About Sai
Hi! I'm Sai, a PhD student in Experimental Particle Physics with a passion for mathematics, physics, and helping students discover that these subjects can actually be enjoyable.
I've always enjoyed breaking down complex ideas into simple, intuitive explanations. One of the most rewarding parts of tutoring is seeing the moment when something that once seemed confusing suddenly makes sense. Building a student's confidence and watching them become more independent in their learning is what motivates me to teach.
Over the past few years, I've worked with students of many different ages and abilities through tutoring centers as well as private tutoring. Whether a student is striving for top marks, preparing for VCE examinations, or simply looking to build stronger foundations, I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and challenging themselves.
Outside of tutoring, my research focuses on particle physics for various experiments located around the globe, where I use programming, data analysis, and statistics to investigate some of the biggest unanswered questions in physics. I enjoy sharing real-world applications of mathematics and science whenever possible, helping students see how the concepts they learn in the classroom connect to exciting discoveries and careers.
I believe every student is capable of improving with the right guidance, and my goal is not only to help students achieve strong academic results, but also to develop confidence, curiosity, and problem-solving skills that will benefit them well beyond the classroom.

My approach to tutoring is centred on developing genuine understanding rather than memorisation. I believe students learn best when they understand the reasoning behind a concept, so I encourage them to ask questions, explore different ways of solving problems, and build confidence through guided practice. My lessons are interactive, supportive, and tailored to each student's learning style and goals.
I begin by identifying a student's current level of understanding and any gaps in their knowledge. From there, I adapt my teaching to suit their needs—whether that involves reinforcing foundational concepts, extending high-achieving students with challenging problems, or preparing for examinations. Throughout each lesson, I encourage students to explain their thinking aloud, as this helps identify misconceptions and develop stronger mathematical reasoning.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes in length, although 90-minute sessions are available for senior secondary students, university students, or those preparing for major examinations. Each lesson combines clear explanations, worked examples, and plenty of opportunity for students to solve problems independently with guidance when needed. I also provide advice on effective study strategies and exam technique where appropriate.
I am currently undertaking a PhD in Experimental Particle Physics and previously completed a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Physics. Over the past several years, I have tutored students across a wide range of mathematical and scientific subjects through both private tuition and my work with Quantum Education. This experience has included teaching students of varying abilities, from those needing additional support to gifted students preparing for mathematics competitions and advanced extension work.
My lessons are suitable for higher secondary students (i.e. at the VCE level), and undergraduate students. I primarily teach mathematics and physics, including VCE Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, General Mathematics and introductory university mathematics and physics.
Above all, my goal is to help students become independent, confident learners who enjoy tackling challenging problems and leave each lesson with a stronger understanding than when they arrived.
