PhD researcher offering tutoring in environmental science, ecology and biology. Aimed towards Uni students!

Sam and I are colleagues at Bangor University, and started our PhD studies at the same time. I’ve worked with him both on general academic tasks and, in particular, developing my GIS skills.

I had previously been doing map-based work in RStudio, but Sam introduced me to QGIS as an alternative. As a GIS novice, Sam taught me everything, from creating a project to calculating environmental variables from satellite data. Sam was patient, listened to my goals, and explained things in a way that made GIS enjoyable and gave me the confidence to work independently with it. That said, he’s still happy to help me with it whenever I get stuck.

I recommend Sam as a tutor, not just for GIS, but for a range of applications and academic tasks. His patient and adaptable approach makes him very easy to learn from.
