About Louise
I hold a PhD in Nineteenth-Century Literature from King’s College London, where I worked as a Teaching Assistant, and later designed and taught my own module as a Visiting Lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University.
I also hold a BA and MA in Comparative Literature, giving me broad knowledge across genres from Classical to Modern texts, and I have two peer-reviewed publications and a book chapter. I have tutored 1:1 and 1:3 groups for The Brilliant Club and MyTutor, and currently tutor GCSE and A-Level students, alongside supervising sixth-formers’ studies in a secondary school.

My teaching approach centres on close textual analysis, structured essay technique, and building genuine confidence with texts, essay writing, and exam requirements. Lessons run for one hour, tailored to each student and closely aligned with their exam board specification (AQA or Edexcel).
