About Janith

I am an Applied Mathematician / Software Engineer at a deep-tech startup. Previously, I completed a PhD in Computing (focussed on Machine Learning) at Imperial College London and a postdoc at the University of Cambridge. During these I spent time across the entire computing spectrum, from designing computer architectures to developing, training, and experimenting with novel machine learning models.

I want to teach to help students fall in love with programming too and to learn one of the most useful skills in today’s world.

I started programming out of personal interest more than 11 years ago. I learn new programming skills in my free time because of my love of the subject. During my time at universities, I thoroughly enjoyed tutoring students, teaching them what I learned, and sometimes learning from them too!

About the lesson

Learning how to program is not only a powerful skill in today’s job market, but also unlocks the ability to build carry out fun, useful projects; programming is really the spell-crafting of our time.

I will take a personal approach to my teaching, matching the lessons taught and approach taken to suit what you want to learn. We can work on any topic, problem or project that you would like help with; if you would like to dive into programming, we can start from the basics and move up to more complex projects.

I can help at all levels, from beginners to professionals.

I emphasize a deep and foundational understanding so that whatever I teach you can be used to help you learn more in the future. We will work on practical skills that you can put to use in the real world!
