About Ghias
Hello, I’m Ghias. I'm a PhD candidate in Social Anthropology at SOAS University of London, with over 10 years of university teaching experience across the UK and internationally.
I’ve taught and designed undergraduate courses in anthropology, sociology, cultural studies, and social theory, and currently work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at SOAS, where I lead seminars and support students in developing their academic writing and research projects.
Alongside my academic work, I have extensive experience in behavioural studies and qualitative research, with a focus on how people understand culture, society, and everyday life. This allows me to support students not just with subject knowledge, but with the skills that actually improve grades: clear argumentation, critical thinking, and strong essay structure.
I specialise in helping students make real, measurable progress in their writing and analytical skills whether they are preparing for exams, coursework, or dissertations.
What I can help you with:
University students
Essay writing and structure
Dissertation planning and feedback
Critical thinking and argument development
Qualitative research methods (ethnography, interviews, thematic analysis)
Academic writing and referencing
GCSE & A-Level students (Humanities & Social Sciences)
Sociology and anthropology topics
Essay technique and exam preparation
Building structured, high-mark answers
Improving clarity and analysis in writing
My approach is supportive, structured, and focused on improvement. I don’t just help you “finish assignments” — I help you understand how to think, write, and perform better academically over time.

My lessons are tailored to your specific goals, whether you are working towards exams, coursework, or university-level assignments.
I focus on developing the core skills that lead to higher marks: clear essay structure, strong argumentation, and confident critical thinking. Rather than simply covering content, I help you understand how to approach questions, organise your ideas, and express them in a way that meets examiners’ expectations.
For university students, I can support you with:
Essay planning, structure, and argument development
Dissertation guidance (from research questions to final draft feedback)
Qualitative research methods, including ethnography and interviews
Academic writing, referencing, and clarity of expression
Feedback on drafts to improve analysis and coherence
For GCSE & A-Level students, lessons focus on:
Understanding key concepts in sociology, anthropology, psychology and related subjects
Breaking down exam questions and understanding what they are asking
Building structured, high-scoring essays
Practising past papers and improving exam technique
Developing confidence in written responses
My teaching style is supportive, structured, and interactive. I guide students through examples, feedback, and step-by-step improvement so that they not only improve their current work, but also develop long-term academic skills.
