About Kerry

I am a PGCE -trained teacher (2012). I have worked with students to prepare them for GCSE and A-Level examinations, including speaking and written examinations and all aspects of grammar, pronunciation and culture during my training and in subsequent teaching positions. In my experience, in order to learn effectively you need 1. A relaxed friendly environment where you feel free to ask any questions and 2. The correct learning skills and techniques as well as resources to acquire the language. With practice, repetition and clear explanations you can improve your French.

MA in Applied Linguistics, Cardiff University, 2007
A degree in French Linguistics, University of Toulouse 2,France, 2006
BA in French and Anthropology, University of Virginia, 2001

4 years living and working in Brittany and Toulouse, France.

About the lesson

I am an experienced teacher with a BA in French from the University of Virgnia, USA. I love working with children and students of all ages as well as speaking and teaching French. I have been teaching for nearly 20 years, with nearly two years experience teaching online. I provide personalised online tutoring for students who want help with French in the comfort of their own home. After leaving America, not only did I live, work and study in France for four years, I also gained:

- a French degree in French Linguistics from the Universite de Toulouse, France
- a Masters in Linguistics at Cardiff University
- a teaching degree/PGCE to teach French at secondary school level (ages 11 - 18). I tutor all levels and have experience teaching todders to students studying for their A-Levels.

I teach all ages, but specifically GCSE and A-Level French. I also have experience working for the IB (International Baccalaureate. Am available also for homework help.

I believe lessons should be fun and friendly, while also providing the skills you need to understand and succeed. Anyone can learn and master a language, it’s all about finding out how you learn best and gaining the skills in a relaxed environment.
