About Sarah

I am a native Swede who has spent much of my adult life travelling and living abroad. This has given me incredible opportunities to meet people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, strengthening my skills in creative communication. Along the way, I’ve gained knowledge of different languages and been introduced to Spanish, German, and French. Being half Icelandic I also have some level of understanding of the Icelandic language. I love sharing my language and culture with those who are curious and eager to learn. Learning a new language is an exciting journey—it not only expands our vocabulary but also broadens our minds, deepening our understanding of both differences and similarities across cultures. I believe that language learning is about more than just words; it’s about connection and meaningful communication. Beyond languages, I’m passionate about nature, plants, yoga, and animals, and I love spending time outdoors whenever I can.

About the lesson

I love helping people learn Swedish in a fun and engaging way, whether it’s through conversation, cultural insights, or practical language tips. While I don’t have formal teaching credentials, I bring a natural and immersive approach to language learning, making sure you feel confident and motivated in your studies. I’ve had great opportunities to teach Swedish to many different kinds of people —including those wishing to live, study or work in Sweden. I’ve also taught (and am continuously) my British husband! I focus on making Swedish engaging, accessible, and enjoyable with each lesson tailored to my student's learning styles and interests. I believe that when we engage in fun and ("lagom") challenging experiences our learning is at its best. My teachings are suitable for those wishing to speak and understand Swedish confidently or those who need help preparing for a specific event or exam. An introduction to Swedish culture will naturally be part of my teachings as with some cultural understanding the use and understanding of the language is naturally improved.
