About Joseph
I’m a third-year student at the University of Oxford reading Russian, just back from my year abroad in Kazakhstan and Georgia. Alongside the language itself, I’m well-versed in Russian literature, history, politics, and culture. I’ve tutored and mentored Oxbridge applicants through the admissions process, and I’ve taught English to Ukrainians. I am neurodiverse myself and bring firsthand experience of adapting study techniques to meet demanding academic work.

Lessons are built around your goals, whether that’s grammar, conversation, reading literature, or preparing for exams. We’ll draw on evidence-based techniques like spaced repetition, active recall, and comprehensible input, adapted to how you actually learn best. I’ll take time to tailor individual lesson plans and resources, focusing on the ways of learning you find most engaging and satisfying, and tying in your other interests and fields of study such as politics, history, and philosophy.
