About Charlie
I am a singer, songwriter and poet with a passion for encouraging people past blocks and to step into their musicality with creativity, play and confidence.
Music and words can truly move people, and particularly with singing, the voice has evocative power. I love to share that and explore that with students, and usually the benefits of regular singing and music making impacts their lives in so many ways outside of lessons.
Other random facts about me: I love horses, dogs and cats. I am learning Thai and LOVING it! I like coffee and chocolate but roast potatoes are my favourite food. I can horse-ride really well (I have qualifications in coaching that too!) and love to surf (though I'm somewhere in between beginner and intermediate with that one)

I work with singers/musicians of all genres, levels and ages. My teaching is of a contemporary, confidence-boosting style. With lessons specialised to you, using music that you love to develop your own unique artistry. I aim to encourage you to find your own voice and explore your creativity.
I offer 45mins for children and 60min sessions for teenagers and adults. (Teens and adults can book 45min sessions too if need be, but hourly works better) The styles I am most specialised in (in order of specialism) are singer/songwriter styles, pop, ballads, folk, rock, soul, RnB, punk, rock, jazz and musical theatre.
Some qualifications of mine:
BA Hons in English Language & Literature 2:1 at University of Brighton (2014-2017)
Professional Diploma in Professional Musicianship: Vocals (Level 5) (Distinction) at BIMM: Brighton (2010- 2011)
Performing Arts National Diploma (Triple Distinction) at Truro College (2006-2008)
I have 16 years of performing arts and music experience whether that be musicals (With Trucco & Dave’s House 2006-2009), opening the main stage for The Buzzcocks at Rebellion Festival (Screama Ballerina, 2012), or starring in an award winning film I wrote, directed and produced (Annie & Me, 2017), having my music played on radios worldwide (BBC 6 Music and more 2011-present) touring Europe (with Screama Ballerina 2013), crowdfunding my own releases (The Original Ghost 2018) or releasing music and videos inspired by Florence and The Machine, Patti Smith and Kate Bush. (The New Rebellion, 2022) There's not many creative art forms I haven't dabbled in, but singing and making music has been the main constant in my life.
