About Yash
As a movement artist, I take from my surroundings and circumstances. I observe everyday happenings and it keeps adding to a vocabulary that has built over time.
My journey as a dancer began the way most do- regular training, classes and performances somewhere along the way there came a lot of questioning, a desire to find a purpose. I started having questions like- What am I doing? Why do I do what I do? Does it contribute to the betterment of the world in some way? Does it serve a purpose? I found answers to most of these questions by dwelling and not just rushing for the sake of it.
To me, art and dance isn’t just entertainment, there is more to it...I feel it’s an efficient medium to pass along anything - a thought message, knowledge, awareness, the right education and so on… I’m trying to walk towards efficiency in whatever I do and I choose to do it with complete honesty.
Sharing dance in a meaningful way through sharing my knowledge of dance techniques I’ve equipped myself with over the years, along with my learnings of art and movement is something I long to do.

In class, I choose to work on thought, concepts and imagination in addition to structure. My practice and method of teaching derive from different elements like writing, painting, voice, theatre and composition.
My class is open to people of all ages and levels with a prime focus on finding comfort within your own movement. I’m a flexible and patient teacher; as a private dance teacher, I hope to craft classes to fit exactly what my students are looking for. I want to be able to share with them tools that remain with them for the long run.
