About Merna

My name is Merna, and I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration. While my academic path led me into healthcare, my true passion has always been teaching and helping others learn. I have experience working as a tutor and in an after-school care program, where I supported students in their learning and development. I also studied Elementary Education before switching my major in my senior year, which gave me valuable skills in teaching methods, patience, and communication. Originally from Iraq, I learned English myself at the age of 15. Because of this, I truly understand the challenges non-native speakers face when trying to express themselves in English. My journey allows me to connect with students on a personal level and guide them with empathy and encouragement. My goal is to make learning English practical, supportive, and confidence-building, so my students not only improve their language skills but also feel comfortable using them in everyday life.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to help non-native speakers build confidence in speaking English step by step. I focus on practical conversation, everyday vocabulary, and clear pronunciation so students can communicate naturally in real-life situations.

I use a patient and supportive approach, drawing from my background in education to make learning simple and enjoyable. Each lesson is interactive, with activities such as role-plays, dialogues, and real-world practice.
