About Denver
Hi, I'm Denver! I'm extremely passionate about learning... specifically when it comes to understanding students' needs.
I hold a M.Ed. in Learning Design & Technology, a Master's Certificate in eLearning and a B.A. in Conflict Resolution from James Madison University. (Harrisonburg, VA)
As a volunteer, I served as a Curriculum Specialist for AmeriCorps in Harpers Ferry, WV, and a Youth & Community Development Specialist in the United States Peace Corps (Commonwealth of Dominica, West Indies).
As a learning professional I worked as a Training & Development Specialist for the US Government for over 11 years, where I designed PowerPoint presentations and other learning materials for highway engineers.
In my most current role as an Instructional Designer for a US-based electrical company, I work with Subject Matter Experts in order to conduct needs analyses, and create eLearning using PowerPoint and Storyline 360 for transmission system operators.
So in a nutshell... I can work with any level of learner in any industry. (because I focus on human-centered solutions)

Being a consultative Instructional Design professional, I put my learners' needs first. I dedicate time to fully understand the most effective way for you to learn, and tailor my lessons to fit your unique experience level and skill set.
What sets me apart from other educators is my flexibility and patience. My students have ranged from elementary school students in an Eastern Caribbean classroom setting to seasoned US Government employees in a corporate training environment.
My superpower is taking complex ideas and simplifying them into easily digestible learning chunks. This is the same approach that I take when teaching music.
FYI... As a former Drum Corps member, I also teach marching percussion (snare drum and bass drum) to anyone interested in being in a drumline ; )
