About Abir
Hello! My name is Abir Ghosh Biswas and I’m currently studying Economics at University College London. I have always been passionate about learning and explaining ideas clearly, and I want to help students build both confidence and understanding in Economics and Mathematics. I know from personal experience that these subjects can sometimes feel overwhelming, but with the right approach they become logical and even enjoyable. My goal as a tutor is not just to help you achieve good grades, but to give you tools and ways of thinking that will stay with you beyond exams. As a recent school leaver myself, I understand the pressures of preparing for National 5s and Highers, and I can relate to the challenges students face. I combine strong subject knowledge with patience, encouragement, and structured lessons to make sure progress feels achievable. Whether you’re aiming for top marks or simply want to feel more confident, I’m here to guide you step by step.

My Approach to Tutoring My teaching style is interactive and tailored to each student’s learning needs. I focus on identifying areas of difficulty, then breaking topics into clear, manageable steps. I encourage questions and make sure students feel confident before moving forward. Where possible, I connect theory to real-life examples in economics and maths, so that lessons feel practical, relevant and enjoyable at all times. Lesson Format: A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, structured around: Quick recap of previous material. Step-by-step explanation of the new topic. Guided practice using exam-style questions or problem-solving activities. A short summary and independent study suggestions. My Background I am a first-year Economics undergraduate at UCL, with consistent A* results in Mathematics and Economics at school. I have supported classmates and younger pupils with revision and exam preparation, and I enjoy breaking down challenging concepts into simple, step-by-step explanations. Who My Lessons Are For? I offer tutoring for National 5 and Higher Economics and Mathematics. My lessons are suitable for pupils preparing for exams, strengthening their core skills, or aiming to build confidence in these subjects.
