About Dahlia
I started piano at 8 years old, and I hated practicing! But over time, as I discovered my passion for piano, I developed techniques and tricks that helped me to love practicing. My goal with teaching is to get my students to love practicing too. Piano is a beautiful instrument, and it is such a privilege to know how to make it sing! If my students enjoy playing, they can pursue a higher education in piano like taking ABRSM piano tests - I made it all the way up to Grade 8 in ABRSM, and you can too!

I teach out of the Alfred lesson books, but I tailor my lessons to fit the needs of each student. For a beginner, I start with teaching to read music and finger positioning. With a more advanced student, I teach out of Hanon's finger warm-ups, and we go into technique, flow, and theory. Of course, my primary goal is to ensure that students enjoy and are motivated to continue playing piano. I can teach up to intermediate students of all ages.
