A Typical Lesson Plan:
Warm-Up (5-10 minutes): We start with a light warm-up to get the body moving, increase flexibility, and prevent injury. This may include stretches or simple choreography to engage muscles.
Technique Practice (10-15 minutes): I’ll focus on fundamental movements or skills specific to the style of dance (e.g., basic footwork for ballet, hip-hop isolations, or salsa turns). This allows students to build muscle memory and improve their precision.
Choreography or Routine (15-20 minutes): Once the technique is in place, we’ll work on learning a sequence or routine. I’ll break the choreography down into manageable sections, helping students to master each part before putting it all together.
Cool Down & Reflection (5-10 minutes): At the end of each lesson, I allow time to cool down and reflect on the session. We’ll discuss what went well, areas for improvement, and any questions students may have.
