Our first step is to define the objectives of the lesson, why it's important for my student to learn what I'm teaching them and how learning the certain concept will be beneficiary or will help them.
My teaching methodology is to make every lesson related to the real world and object, a theory background to grasp a good understanding of the concept, then practical lesson, them more practicals, followed by advanced quizzes, test/exam, then a project to close it up, through each of this step I'm constantly evaluating the student's understand and going back to explain and provide clarity where is needed and adjusting to the student's rate of understanding together with their learning style. I have being tutoring and mentoring for about 2 years now at Tshwane University of Technology, usually infront of class of no less than 80 students, I also done alot of one-one-one lessons. In 2019 DSO17BT performance went from around 40-50% pass rate the year of 2018 to 60% pass rate by 2018 during the time when I heavenly took part in tutoring and mentoring and also implementing StudyThons to assist the students..
I have a natural love to help people learn and understand computer programming and develop a love for tech, so early in my second year of study I decided to become an ICT academic mentor at TUT, that wasn't enough for me, I wanted to do more so I become a tutor shortly, followed by becoming a student assistant, I've spent 2 years tutoring and mentoring students in the programming modules, from C++, C#, SQL and Java, but my knowledge doesn't end there, I also have vast amount of experience with frameworks such as Laravel, bootstrap that I'm willing to share with anyone that genuinely want to learn, I have done a number of projects.
