About Ian
From the age of 12, I have always been passionate in Design and Architecture. The morphology between art and construction has always fascinated me. As a child I loved to draw and build thing be it LEGO or carpentry. Hence, it was only natural for me to have a passion for Architecture and Design. I was lucky enough to acquire an internship at the age of 17 under one of the Top 10 Architects in Malaysia and have been interning there every semester break where I gained an abundance of practical knowledge from it. For me, there is never truly a bad idea, only 'undercooked' ideas. A good idea is developed/formed, it doesn't appear out of thin air. I love to help others and watch them achieve great things, it brings me satisfaction and joy that I am able to help someone do better and realise their potential. Therefore, I am naturally a very committed teacher who will go all out to help you achieve your desired result.

In my lessons, I will assist in pushing your projects/design to its fullest potential and provide advice/teach the relevant programs/software to achieve the result. I will support you throughout your design process from concept ideation to design execution and finally presentation.
I believe the best way to learning is by questioning everything. I will listen and question your ideas and design while providing feedback on them. By questioning/critiquing, you are able to rationalise and strengthen your idea + design which in turn will build your confidence in your work. When you are stuck, I will pose questions to trigger your ideas and when you are lost I will provide you with advice on how to execute your design. There is no student and teacher, we will WORK AS A TEAM and each of our opinions and ideas are as equally important.
I have tutored many juniors during my Bachelor's Degree in Architecture @ The University of Melbourne and was part of the Peer Mentoring Program where I advised first year students on how to survive the Architecture and Design Degree. My tutelage has lead to at most, my students achieving a high grade and producing a strong project and at least, their grades and project quality increase significantly. I am a very passionate and committed tutor and will treat your project as if it were my own. I have experience in the industry and have acquired excellent practical knowledge from it.
My lessons are aimed for undergraduate Architecture/Design students but am also willing to part my knowledge to anyone of any age or level who are interested in Architecture and Design. My lessons will range from 1 to 2 hours with the option of going beyond. Certain situations require more time and the decision is yours.
