About Becky
Currently studying a PhD in educational psychology, teaching has become a passion of mine as I’ve had to dive into lecturing research methods at university level. This includes teaching qualitative and quantitative research methods as well as programmes such as SPSS and Nvivo. Psychology has always been a huge interest of mine and something which I have always enjoyed, I have always read around the subject and found it incredibly enjoyable. I have received associate fellowship to the higher education academy and am currently working on achieving a PGCert whilst doing my PhD. I have experience with all areas of psychology. The modules I specialised in in my final year included: cognitive neuroscience, forensic, face perception, substance use. I did not complete a masters as I was offered a PhD straight from my undergraduate. My a level psychology included core studies in the first year such as Loftus and Palmers eyewitness testimony and second year involved clinical and forensic psychology. I have also marked research proposals and literature reviews at university level. I am aware of expectations for dissertations and essays. As a PhD student, my writing has to be of a high standard and academic quality.

My teaching method is primarily based on the concept of active learning. It’s including demonstration, check of understanding and engaging the student within the material. I like to approach my lessons using visual methods as well as solid real world examples.
