I was raised in Indonesia before completing my high school education in Melbourne. This exposure has truly cultivated a love and passion for the nation, its culture, and the language. Salam kenal!!
My name is Yvette Thompson, a recent graduate from Balwyn High School, and an incoming law student at a prestigious university in the UK.
In 2022, I achieved the only perfect score (50/50) in VCE Indonesian Second Language, a year ahead of peers in my cohort! For this achievement, I was awarded a Premier's Award, an award designed to recognise students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in the Victorian Certificate of Education.
I completed 3 years of study at the Victorian School of Languages, where I was able to continue my love for learning Bahasa Indonesia, and am now seeking to share this passion with others!
I am open to tutor students of all ages and backgrounds, from those who are just seeking an insight into the culture, to students currently studying the language in an educational institution.
I am available most evenings, and am happy to tutor online (Google Meets) or in person (Inner Eastern Suburbs or Melbourne CBD).
My sessions will be tailored to each individual, depending on their current level, and their goal form tutoring. Together, we will discuss what aspirations you may have in learning Bahasa, and how we can collaborate in achieving that. I will provide all the resources required, so no need for any textbooks!
