About Emilie
I am a first year university student studying linguistics, which involves learning how language works, and I have found this to be beneficial to my teaching! I have worked as a tutor for three years, and a babysitter for many more. I've done work placements in schools and I was an Au-pair in Germany during my gap year, where I worked with children aged 2, 6 and 8. Here my work included teaching them English! This was such a lovely experience, not just valuable to my personal dream of becoming a teacher, but I got to live and make a difference every day with them. Although I am only 20, I believe this is a benefit to my teaching. I have recently gone through the school system and I understand the nuances of the mark schemes and what examiners look for. One of my biggest achievements was getting 100% in my English literature GCSE.

My lessons always start with getting to know your young person. Each learning style is different and I have experience with all different types of learner. Ideally, your child will bring home their schoolwork so I can work alongside teacher-given feedback, and I will provide exercises, explanations and additional work to do after the lessons with me. The aim of every session is not to stress your young person. Clarity and understanding are the basis of my methodology and I know that each person takes their own time and way to the solution.
