About Craig

I'm a Part 2 Architectural Assistant with over a year of experience working in a Glasgow-based practice. I graduated from Strathclyde University in 2022, with an MArch in Advanced Architectural Design with Distinction.

I'm skilled in using various architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD and Adobe Photoshop and have used all these tools both academically and in a professional setting for producing both 2D drawings and 3D drawings/models. I also have experience in using Twinmotion rendering software on real-life projects.

As a recent graduate who is now working in the industry in Glasgow, I feel that I'm well-placed to offer a range of support to students. I'm still highly familiar with the academic environment and project criteria but I can also bring in some design considerations and guidance that has been influenced by my time working on high-profile and large-scale projects professionally.

About the lesson

There is no set structure to my sessions, we can prioritise any aspect of your projects that you are needing the most support with. This can include anything from design guidance, support with drawings, model-making, software tutorials or just interpreting what you have been asked to do/understanding the marking criteria.

My sessions are usually around an hour and are generally online but we can discuss a longer or in-person session if required.

Given my experience as both an architecture graduate and a Part 2 Architectural Assistant in practice, I can offer guidance and insights around how to navigate your academic work but also how to prepare for work placements and structuring your CV/Portfolio. I also undertook a mentoring module in my 5th year in which I offered direct support to 1st year students in learning 3D-model making with Autodesk Revit.

Above all else, I understand and am aware of the unique expectations and stresses that architecture students are under and so I am offering support in all aspects of this to Part 1 students (1st to 3rd year) primarily but I'm happy to discuss any Part 2 support (4th and 5th year) further!
