About Dominic

Hi!

I have a clinical background as an on-road paramedic and further experience working as a tutor and sessional academic for several years. I also have a background in international health development with a focus on developing educational and clinical resources for emergency health in the pacific, and have been published in the field. I am currently studying a M. of Disaster and Emergency Management.

This collective experience has allowed me to develop a holistic approach to teaching both the foundational aspects of paramedic practice and more advanced clinical concepts of care. I strive to create a positive and safe learning environment that will foster knowledge and practice to create clinical confidence!

About the lesson

I am passionate about developing clinical knowledge and confidence among student clinicians in the emergency health field.

I believe working at a student's pace and supporting them in a positive and safe learning environment is critical to achieving a student's own individualized learning objectives.

I am flexible and adaptable to student's learning curves and can assist in breaking down advanced concepts into small puzzle pieces that form the big picture.

Experience-wise, as well as working on-road as a paramedic, I have worked for CSU as a tutor and sessional academic and recently commenced that role with UTAS. Beyond that, I have experience working in clinical education resource development within the international health development sphere and have been published in the field. I am also studying a Master in Disaster and Emergency Management, and I know what it feels like to be a student!

University can be stressful! And I aim to support students in their learning to make it fun again.
