About Aoife
I am a recent graduate of Christ Church, University of Oxford, where I read History (2017-2020).
I have experience with university admissions processes and assessments, as well as with History at GCSE and A-Level.
During my degree, I have made use of my professional working proficiency in French. I can offer tutoring at GCSE and AS Levels.
I studied Music Performance and Theory at the level of Higher Education - a One Year Programme at the Royal Academy of Music (2016-2017) - and have a variety of qualifications issued by The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. These include:
- DipABRSM in Harp Performance
- Grade 6 Music Theory
- Grade 8 Violin and Piano.
I have experience with Music admissions tests, interviews, and auditions for Institutions of Higher Education.
I currently work as a Self-Employed Music Teacher, giving private tutoring for Harp and Grade 5 Music Theory.
I have previously mentored Oxbridge candidates during their application and interview periods.
Other teaching experience includes working as a Volunteer Teaching Assistant in regular Strings Scheme group classes at a local primary school, and leading music outreach projects and workshops.

I can offer tutoring in French, History, English, and Music (Performance or Theory) up to University Level.
Recognising that everybody works in different ways, I believe in a flexible and individual approach to teaching. This may involve using visuals, videos and media, as well as interactive exercises and quizzes.
A short review at the beginning of each tutorial helps to gauge which methods each student has found most useful and suited to them. This can take the form of a discussion or brief recap test.
Lessons are tailored to the age, level, and competencies of each individual. I can offer tutoring to 11+, GCSE, A-Level, and university admissions-level students.
