About Charles
I study Spanish and Italian at Jesus College, Oxford. My course is predominantly literature, but I've also studied English Language and History to A Level, meaning I have a broad knowledge of humanities at many levels. As well as this, I have a keen interest in History of Art and journalism.
My speciality is language tutoring and I have a qualification of 120 hours training as well as experience tutoring for A Level Spanish and those applying to study languages at Oxford. My training covered all ages and abilities, from beginners' to advanced study.
My tutoring style is based off of discussion rather than lecturing. I believe that students have a greater understanding of a topic if they speak about it, ask questions and engage their mind rather than merely writing notes. This is particularly true in languages and literature, subjects in which independent thought is essential for success in any examination.
