About Simran

Hi! I'm Simran and I recently graduated from Brasenose College, University of Oxford with a 2.1 in Law (Jurisprudence).

I scored 34 on my LNAT (the national average being 21 and for Oxford 26).

I currently have a Training Contract at a Magic Circle firm, and have work experience with a range of other firms and barristers' chambers.

Not only did I successfully pass my Oxford Law interview, during my degree I was employed to work at interviews – this means I am very attuned to the process.

I also mooted whilst at university (held the position of Master of Moots at my college and participated in the HSF Disability Mooting Championship) if you need some further evidence that I am good at talking about law!

About the lesson

For interview preparation, I will give the student a mock interview (typically a case study and questions) followed by detailed feedback on their strengths and weaknesses. After this, I will ask some further interview questions to assess their progress and give more pointers for improvement/examples of what the interviewer might be looking for. Interview success is all about being able to talk through your thought processes and having confidence in your abilities which is something I am keen to foster in my tutees.

For LNAT preparation, we will work through practice questions together, so that I can highlight how to think about and approach the questions. We will go over common mistakes and how to avoid making them. I will also mark LNAT essays and go over practice essay questions, giving advice on how to plan and structure them.

I have a good understanding of what top tier universities are looking for in law applications, and will be able to help you write a successful application. My own personal statement was accepted by Oxford, LSE, UCL, Durham and Bristol and I have delivered personal statement workshops for prospective applicants whilst an undergrad at Oxford.
