About Mark
Music has been my passion since the age of four – after taking every musical opportunity available to me in school, I went on to study it at university before going on to research people's diverse experiences of music and the roles it plays in their lives.
I have worked for tutorial colleges, churches and universities as well as offering freelance tuition on the basis of word-of-mouth recommendations. My vocation is driven through an alternation between practical engagement with musicians and communities and deeper reflection on the musical dynamics and needs of these communities in my research and writing.

- I have worked with students of all levels, from beginner piano and flute students, through A-level music tuition to supervision of university research projects. I offer a friendly and flexible approach, tailored to your particular learning needs.
- I have a PhD in music, and have performed with numerous orchestras, choirs and bands. I have been tutoring students of all levels and abilities since 2010.
