About Fiona
I am passionate about the arts in general and would love to think that I am able to encourage and inspire students with the same love of writing and ideas that I have. It is so important to bring the subject to life, and allow students to find, and have confidence in, their own critical voice. Being able to read critically and write cogently are skills that will carry any individual far in life, and it has always been truly rewarding for me to see students flourish and grow in this area as they move towards a new academic chapter in their lives.

I hold a BA from Oxford University in English Language & Literature, as well as an MA in Production Design from the NFTS. I have now been tutoring for over 10 years, and have taught a wide range of age groups, from KS2 up to adult learners and university applicants. I am DBS checked, and can show you the certificate for this if required.
I like to try and make English as accessible as possible for students, at the same time as being flexible with teaching approaches and injecting fun and relevancy into the subject. The needs of each student vary widely, and I have found that the most successful approach is to tailor the lessons to those individual requirements.
I frequently find that instigating discussion encourages students to become more confident in forming their own opinions, and to see things with fresher eyes.
