About Ben
Hi! I'm Ben and I went to Oxford to study engineering. I now work as a power engineer in the North East.
Going through school, I didn't have tutoring or extensive interview prep. Now I've experienced the Oxford tutorial system, I'm a firm believer in its power. Those hours with a tutor were a precious opportunity to clarify my thoughts and ask for help with hard problems. I certainly won't have all the answers, but I will be as invested as you to find the solution!

Having fun is the goal of our sessions. Every subject contains interesting facts and cool applications, which I use to guide and inspire.
There are millions of textbook practice questions out there (use ChapGPT). What can give you the edge though is having an intelligent conversation with someone who has been there, someone who can push your understanding and your brainpower, someone with whom you can share a dedication to your chosen subject.
I like to give 45 minute sessions. Content-wise, I can ask you a range of questions, link topics, or expose you to more advanced ideas. Or, send me problems in advance and I will write worked solutions with diagrams.
First/second-year engineering degree courses: Mathematics, Electronic and Information Systems, Structures, Mechanics, Materials, Thermo-fluids, Energy. Advanced level: Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Medical Engineering, Communications (Signals/RF), Control Theory, Computer Science.

Details
I make the sessions shorter than an hour because I think 45 mins is a good length of time to properly focus for. The extra time I charge for is for my prep work, writing solutions, and following up with PDFs etc.
