About Elizabeth
I am an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated English teacher who has a superb reputation for quality and creative provision as well as outstanding student care. My aim is to help children exceed their expectations; to challenge, motivate, support and continually inspire young minds.
I have a proven track record, helping hundreds of students improve their ability, confidence and grades. Prior to becoming a tutor I was Head of English at Moorland Private School, Clitheroe, Second in English Department at Settle College and Head of Department at Settle Middle School. In addition I am an English Language Exam Assessor for AQA.
I have an immense range of skills and experiences including: special needs education, exam board marking, academic writing, teaching English to foreign students, preparing student teachers for skills tests, eleven plus and common entrance exam preparation.
I am committed to providing a ihghly successful educational experience with personalised lessons that are fully resourced and providing a supporting, enabling and reliable service.

Liz is a wonderful tutor who has an excellent rapport with her students but also knows her stuff! She is friendly, polite and a calming person who really connects with her students so that they enjoy the subject. What Liz doesn’t know about teaching and the GCSE English papers isn’t worth knowing.
I have known Elizabeth for over five years. She is an inspiring and enthusiastic teacher of English with a high success rate at many ages and levels. She tutors both English Language and English Literature and has experience of both face-to-face and online tutoring.
